Um pouco da história
Fundado em 1867, o Kunstgewerbemuseum (ou Museu de Artes Decorativas) era originalmente um instituto privado chamado Deutsches Gewerbe-Museum zu Berlin (Museu Alemão do Design, mas logo se tornou o museu mundialmente famoso que é hoje. O Kunstgewerbemuseum abriga muitas peças icônicas da arte europeia, como móveis ornamentados, tecidos ricamente bordados e vasos de porcelana fina, que estão espalhados por dois locais. O Kulturforum, perto da Potsdamer Platz, foi originalmente projetado por Rolf Gutbrod e modernizado por Kuehn Malvezzi e possui uma galeria de moda considerável ao lado de muitas obras-primas europeias. O segundo lugar está localizado no Schloss Köpenick, em uma ilha no Rio Dahme, e oferece aos visitantes uma seleção de jóias de design de interiores dos séculos XVI e XVIII.
