Un poco de historia
The Vineyard of Leonardo da Vinci, replanted after more than 600 years and returned to its former glory. Just a few steps from the absolute masterpiece of the Renaissance genius, the Last Supper, housed in the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, you can visit the reborn vineyard that Ludovico Sforza, the Duke of Milan, donated to Leonardo in 1498, as a sign of gratitude for the realization of the Last Supper. The artist and wine lover greatly appreciated this gift that, among other things, would have allowed him to obtain the citizenship in Milan, as the owner of a plot of about 8,300 square meters in the city center. The dream did not come true because, a few months later, Ludovico Sforza declined. But the vineyard continued to play a deep sentimental value for Leonardo and arrived intact until the '20s, only to be destroyed during the Second World War, in 1943.
