Éphèse est l'un des sites archéologiques les mieux conservés de l'ère classique. La bibliothèque de Celsius et le grand théâtre sont les points forts de cette visite. Vous découvrirez aussi la maison de la Vierge Marie et vous vous arrêterez à Sirince pour déjeuner. Gökhan, l'un de nos guides locaux, explique : "À l'époque de l'empereur Tibère, Éphèse était la ville la plus importante d'Europe après Rome. Elle était riche en raison de son activité commerciale florissante, abritait 250 000 personnes et était culturellement très avancée. Le site est vraiment impressionnant, il reste tellement de détails.'

Votre guide expert vous transportera dans le temps, alors que vous découvrez le passé vivant d'Éphèse, site classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Vous verrez la bibliothèque de Celsus, construite avec des doubles murs pour protéger ses parchemins de la chaleur. Ne manquez pas les maisons encore décorées de fresques, ainsi que les bains publics, le bordel et les boutiques. Vous descendrez Marble Street pour voir le Grand Théâtre, une spectaculaire salle de 24 000 places creusée dans la colline, qui résonnait autrefois des cris des gladiateurs et des sermons de Saint Paul.

Vous continuerez avec la Maison de la Vierge Marie, un sanctuaire catholique et musulman. Vous y trouverez un mur de souhaits, où vous pouvez laisser des prières écrites, et une fontaine dont les eaux sont considérées par certains comme miraculeuses. Nous terminerons la journée à Sirince, une ville un peu moins ancienne, mais qui a toujours un air d'antan. Le déjeuner est prévu dans restaurant familial, avant de goûter au vin de fruit du pays et de profiter de temps libre pour flâner dans les rues pavées de la ville.
