This tour takes you into the towering mountains of the Sierra Madre in Jalisco state. You'll visit the colonial ‘Pueblos Magicos' of Mascota and San Sebastian del Oeste, and enjoy great views, local culture and traditional food along the way. Among the highlights are visits to a coffee plantation and the home of a villager.
We'll kick off this day trip by winding our way into the Sierra Madre from Puerto Vallarta to experience the raw beauty of the region. Mid-morning, you'll arrive in Mascota – buried deep in the mountains – to admire both its charming setting and the town. A guided tour includes the unfinished church as well the local school and businesses.
Next, continue north towards San Sebastian, stopping on the way for some food. You'll also have the chance to visit a coffee plantation and try some cocoa and biscuits in a local's house. Then it's on to the town itself, where you'll see the jail, town hall and more. A day of real exploration.
