If the great outdoors are your thing, then this excursion is for you. You'll head up mighty Mount Teide – the 3,700-metre-plus volcanic peak that looms from Tenerife's centre – for sightseeing with a difference.
All moonlike lava fields and rocky ridges, it's a natural showstopper and the highest peak in the whole of Spain. As you climb, you'll pass through four different climate zones, which create an ever-changing kaleidoscope of terrains, flora and fauna.
As an optional extra, you can avail of the cable car service to the just below the summit of the volcano. From this altitude, you can enjoy head-spinning views over Tenerife and the rest of the Canary archipelago jutting up from the Atlantic.
