This private walking tour is an incredible opportunity to sample the real tastes of Istanbul and experience delicious Turkish delicacies the city has to offer. This experience is part of STEP, a selection of walking tours designed as a way to discover a destination in more depth, finding hidden gems, meeting the locals and exploring off the beaten path.
On the day of the tour, you will meet your local guide at the chosen time by the Karakoy tram station security kiosk, unless you have opted for a pick-up service. The first food experience of the day will be at Karakoy where a traditional Turkish breakfast will be served! Enjoy culinary treasures such as Menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs), sucuklu omlet (Turkish omelet), and kaymak (similar to clotted cream) served with honey. After savoring the food, you’ll then catch a metro to Taksim/Pera to walk along the famous Istiklal street. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of Turkish life of this street that never sleeps.
After a relaxing tea and coffee break, the tour will continue towards Karakoy via The Museum of Innocence where you will try Cig Kofte (traditional Turkish meatballs), as well as stuffed or fried mussels. The walking tour will come to an end back at the Karakoy tram station. Whether you are a food expert or just love food, this tour will definitely satisfy your tastebuds!
