With its peculiar stacked rocks and knobbly karst towers, the otherworldly landscape of El Torcal is one of Spain’s most unique natural landscapes, formed over 150 million years ago, by the movement of tectonic plates beneath the ocean. Now a protected nature reserve, El Torcal’s unusual terrain is celebrated both for its remarkable geology and its diverse wildlife, and the rocky landscape is home to around 700 different plant species and a colorful array of nesting and migratory birds. We will walk an easy 1.5km route (close to 1 mile), which will enable us to see some of the most impressive formations and stunning views over the surrounding landscape as well as a slight detour to see some stunning examples of the ammonite fossils the park is famous for.
Its labyrinth valleys lined with surreal rock formations, unique flora and fauna and breathtaking views is a perfect ending to our tour and will provide you with unforgettable memories (and hundreds of photos) of a perfect day trip.
Lunch is not included in the tour price, however during the tour, we can stop for lunch at the visitors centre at El Torcal (before or after the walk starts depending on the starting time) where they serve good quality local dishes.
