What to expect

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken by a air-conditioned vehicle to Waky Marrakech, the first cable to be built in Morocco.

Waky is the perfect setting for a short day trip out of Marrakech; a beautiful lake with a stunning and at times snow-covered mountain back drop.

Here you will be able to wake-board, wake-skate, knee-board or water-ski on a purpose built lake at the foot of the Atlas Mountains whilst being towed by an overhead cable rather than from behind a motorboat.

With views of the Atlas Mountain range in the distance this makes for a truly pleasurable and exhilarating experience. There are two cable circuits so beginners will be able to learn and practice on the smaller, slower cable.

You will receive an introduction to the park, a safety briefing and all equipment will be supplied for your one hour session. Guidance or coaching is also available if necessary.

Once you have mastered the basics, or for the more experienced riders, there is a specially designed circuit which includes a variety of kickers, sliders and boxes for you to develop and practice your tricks on should you so wish.

You may wish to spend more time riding, or simply relax and enjoy the sunshine and spectacular setting for a little longer; this can be arranged upon request.

Ouzoud Waterfalls Tour with Imi-n-Ifri and Local Lunch

The Ouzoud Falls are one of the top sights in Morocco and easily visited from Marrakech. You'll head into the Middle Atlas Mountains to see North Africa's highest waterfalls as well as a natural travertine bridge. Hamza, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘I've been guiding this excursion for many years, but I still love seeing the falls. They drop 110m down craggy red cliffs, and there are various places to view the cascading water, from above and below. Ouzoud means “olive” in the Berber language, and the falls are named after the ancient olive trees that thrive around this valley.'You'll cross palm groves, pass by typical Berber villages and weave through mountain passes en route to Ouzoud. Reaching the falls, you'll have plenty of time to take photos and marvel at the succession of tiered cascades. There's a permanent rainbow created by the mist thrown up from the natural power of the water, which is at peak flow during the spring.Your guide will point out the best viewpoints, and with luck you might even spot the Barbary apes that call this dazzling place home. Hamza says, ‘Many people think of Morocco as arid. Yet the Ouzoud Falls and the green surroundings bring a sense of vitality and life-force to the landscape.' After your visit, you'll tuck into a lunch of fine-grain couscous dressed with local olive oil and toasted local almonds – the region's signature dish. And there's a photo stop at the nearby Imi-n-Ifri natural bridge on the way back to Marrakech.
