Leave Messina's busy city life and spend your day visiting two of Sicily's most unique destinations: Mount Etna and the town of Taormina.
On your way to Mount Etna – the highest volcano in Europe – you'll pass through Zafferana Etnea, a charming little village that covers part of the southern side of the volcano. From here, enjoy the beautiful view of the Etna volcano in front of you and the beautiful coast below.
You'll then head on to the mountain refuge Sapienza, at an altitude of 1.900 mt. Here you'll be free to visit the famous Silvestri craters, placed in a wonderous lunar landscape. Once then volcano tour is over, your group will then head to Taormina. Here you can walk along Corso Umberto – once an ancient Roman street – and visit the Greek-roman theater, the oldest churches and monuments or the most exclusive shops, restaurants and pastries to taste typical Sicilian specialities and sweets.
