Your day will start with the famous Barong and Kris dance show. The spectacular dance describes the eternal struggle between good (Barong) and evil (Rangda) and ends with a scene where the kris dancers fall into a trance and try to kill Rangda, the mythical creature known as the Queen of Demons.
The tour will proceed to Gunung Kawi where you will visit the holy water temple Tirta Empul, surrounded by a large shrine of the God Indra. The bathing pools you can find here are believed to have strong curative powers. On the hill behind this temple is a presidential guesthouse built by the late President Soekarno.
The next stop is the town Kintamani, a high mountainous area that takes its name from the wind-blown town at 1500 meters. Inscriptions from the 10th century indicate that Kintamani was one of the earliest known kingdoms in Bali. Going down the hill, you will pass the beautiful greeneries of Tegalalang with its rice fields and coconut trees.
