Sigulda and Turaida are one of Latvia's many scenic corners, also known as the Switzerland of Latvia.
Turaida in the language of the ancient inhabitants Livonia means “the garden of God”. You will see medieval castles from the 13th century, the largest cave of Latvia and hear an old legend about the unflagging love of a girl named Rosa. You will have a chance to stroll through the famous park of sculptures and admire the stupendous nature of the Gauja river valley.
Upon your return from Turaida, you will have an opportunity to visit Birini castle and manor house (1860) and have a lunch in the celebrated “Witch’s tavern”.
