Take part in a two-day tour with an overnight stay to discover authentic places from Toulouse. If you like the medieval atmosphere, the old stones, and the canyons, then this tour is for you!
The first day of this tour will start with a visit to Castelnau de-Montmiral which was built in 1222 and is now classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. You will admire the picturesque Place de la Mairie, lined with medieval houses with original arcades on the ground floor. You will continue your visit to the pretty village of Puycelsi, perched on a rock where you will have a unique view of the Gorges de l'Aveyron and the forest of Grésigne below! You will have lunch in this charming village before going to Bruniquel, a village full of limestone facades, wild gardens, steep streets paved with pebbles and beautiful houses dating from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Your first day will end in the medieval town of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. Founded in the 8th century around a former Benedictine abbey, it has a beautiful heritage, as evidenced by its past as an important craft and commercial centre
The second day will start at Saint Cirq Lapopie where you will dive directly into the medieval period, between houses dating from the 12th and 15th centuries. You will have free time for lunch and in the early afternoon, and then you will leave for Rocamadour which is situated in the Dordogne valley. The sacred town is clinging to the cliff in a superposition of houses and chapels. The miraculous chapel, one of the seven other chapels built in the hollow of the rock, houses its jewel, the Black Madonna venerated for over a millennium.
