What to expect

This guided kayak tour is a popular choice for those visiting Jørpeland, a village located next to Preikestolen. It will give you the opportunity to get up close with nature and see it from a different perspective, in a safe and fun way.

You will start your tour with a safety brief on land and a short lesson showing you the basic paddling techniques, so you don't need any prior kayaking experience to join this tour. Safety equipment is provided to all participants and your guide is a kayaking expert who will ensure you have a safe experience on the fjord.

You will hear the story of the small town called Jørpeland, you will see interesting sights such as the old power station in Vågen and you will learn about moraine mass and pebbles from the ice age. You will also hear about the grave from the year 800 where a powerful woman is buried.

One of the islets you will visit is a favorite nesting area, so you will glide up on the side and experience the sight without disturbing. There is a bustling animal and bird life in the area! If you're lucky you might spot some eagles, while in summer you might have salmon bouncing right up to the kayak.

This is a nurturing trip for the body and soul, it will teach you to observe nature around you using all your senses. At the end of the tour you will be able to master a kayak on your own in calm waters.
