Head out of Stavanger for a bit to enjoy the charming countryside surrounding the city. You will visit the historic cheese factory Byrkjedalstunet reconstructed as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Not only will you visit the shop but you will admire the impressive Gloppedalsuren Boulder Field and enjoy a short walk through Stavanger.
Meet your driver guide and enjoy a scenic ride through the green Dirdal valley following the Dirdalsåna river. After approximately 1-hour you will arrive at Byrkjedalstunet. Visit the souvenir shop filled with traditional Norwegian handicrafts like wool designs, products made from leather of fur, and candles made in the candle makers workshop. Not only souvenirs can be found but also a large selection of locally produced honey, spices, and other delicacies. Or get yourself some Christmas artifacts from the wide selection on display.
After exploring the whole shop, you will continue your journey to Gloppedalsura screem, not only Norway's largest but the largest stone scree in the North of Europe. Admire the boulders some of which are as big a houses! These rocks fell down the mountain during an avalanche thousands of years ago when the mountain defrosted after the ice time. You will then pass through the countryside around Jæren followed by the sandy beaches at Sola. Finally, you will make a short walk through Stavanger, passing the main highlights of the city.
