Born in Germany, Anne Frank lived most of her life in Amsterdam, where her family relocated when she was only four years old. Arriving in 1934, the Frank family lived in a house in Merwedeplein square until they went into hiding in 1942.

Explore the life of Anne Frank on a tour in Amsterdam. One of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust whose well-known story was discovered posthumously with the publication of her diary, documenting her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944, during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.

The secret annex is located at the rear of a 17th-century canal house, now converted into a museum, where Anne and her family lived for over two years during World War II. Nearby you will find a statue created in her honor, outside the Westerkerk in Amsterdam.
