What to expect
Go off the beaten path and immerse yourself in the high-altitude, indigenous Quechua village of Vicos, located in the Ancash Region of the Andes, with a one or three day tour of the community.Transfer to and from Huaraz is included, as well as a local guide. Observe a presentation by local entrepreneurs benefiting from micro-loans and a performance by community musicians. Visit the community's museum, La Casa de los Abuelos, or the House of the Grandparents. Enjoy lunch with your hosts. Participate in a ceremony in respect for the Mother Earth, or the Pachamama in the Quechua language. Listen to traditional Andean music and witness Andean dance.
