Mount Pilatus is a mountain massiv with several peaks which overlooks the city of Lucerne. The top can be reached from Alpnachstad with the Pilatus railway, the world's steepest cogwheel railway, operating from May to October (depending on snow conditions) and the whole year with the panoramic gondolas and aerial cableways from Kriens.
The renown "Golden Round Trip" involves taking a boat from Luzern across the lake to Alpnachstad, where you will take the cogwheel railway to the mountain. You will return down riding the cableways and panoramic gondolas to Kriens, from where the bus will take you back to Luzern.
Your tour guide will accompany you on this tour from the starting point and answer your questions about the country and its people. Your local tour guide will know the way around the city and will also show you a few enjoyable places untouched by tourists.
Please note: Boat and coghwheel railway will operate May to October only. Off season, the tour will go to mount Pilatus both ways by gondola. The tour will be finalized with a 1-hour panoramic tour on Lake Lucerne after the return travel from mount Pilatus.
