After the big success of the first Classical Summer Evening in 2018, the outstanding Berlin Residence Orchestra returns to Castle Britz for the second edition on the 1st of June 2019. Look forward to a classical concert with unique compositions by Mozart against the beautiful backdrop of Britz Castle. Experience an evening that, with the chamber music ensemble dressed in baroque robes and the lovely setting of the castle terraces and park, will make you forget the present and take you back in time to the legendary era of Baroque.
The compositions of Mozart have been a familiar companion for the Berlin Residence Orchestra for some time now. At the Classical Summer Evening, Mozart’s cheerful instrumental sounds are placed in the foreground, inspired by moving arias by his idols C.W. Gluck and G.F. Händel, who also left significant marks in the history of music.
About the Berliner Residence Orchestra: Founded in 2006, the Berliner Residence Orchestra has contributed to the musical landscape of the German capitol for over ten years. They perform more than 120 concerts a year in the great Orangery and the New Wing at Charlottenburg Palace, the most important and most beloved castle of the Prussian royal family. A cooperation with the Foundation of State Museums in Berlin allowed the orchestra to expand its activities to include a concert series at the Bode Museum. In addition, this year the ensemble will give guest performances as part of Open-Air in the Pear Orchard at Ribbeck Castle for the first time, and on the summer terrace at Britz Castle for the second time.
