Local hosts turn tourists into locals and locals into tourists! Join this special walking and food tour in small groups and off-the-beaten-path views!
On this tour, you will explore the new creative quarter of Bucharest together with your local host. You will check out reverse graffiti art and artsy courtyards and visit a late 19th century never restored villa. Your walking tour is embedded in traditional food tasting:
- You will be greeted with a piping hot traditional local snack, "covrig" with sesame or poppy seeds, a mixture between a German pretzel and a Turkish simit.
- At a first stop in a hidden local tavern with a wonderful summer garden you will enjoy one of the most loved local dishes: Eggplant salad with fresh toast bread.
Add a cold beer (or equivalent) and you have the perfect refreshment stop to dig some more into the local culture. - At lunchtime, you will enjoy the Romanian meal which unites all generations and classes: "Mici", the classic Romanian sausages ("mici" literally mean ‘little’). They are served along with french fries and mustard.
- You end the tour with the famous local dessert called ”papanasi” along with a coffee to get your energy back on track for the evening.
