The hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera could easily be the cover for a guidebook – it's Andalusia in a nutshell. This morning trip by 4x4 takes you on a panoramic journey along the Costa de la Luz and into the hills where this whitewashed pueblo laden is located.
Once you've buckled up in a 4x4, you'll set off trundling along the coast, and you'll soon see that the journey to Vejer is just as impressive as your destination. You'll pass by Cabo Roche lighthouse and Conil de la Frontera beach as we wind our way up to the sugarcube white homes of Vejer that sit pretty atop the hill.
On arrival, you'll tour the white town, ticking off the best spots. Narrow cobbled streets fringed by flower-decked overhanging balconies lead into palm-fringed plazas with churches and tiled fountains. All in the shadow of a medieval castle. Drop into one of the bars in main square and people watch on the terrace – a popular local activity. Afterwards, you'll return past more picturesque spots.
