A professional guide will tell you everything there is to know about the site and the Mayan Culture.
Tulum is one of the most studied archaeological sites in Quintana Roo. Thanks to getting early to the site, you will enjoy more time to admire its architectural and natural beauty. You will admire the emblematic building known as El Castillo, mainly used for religious rituals and as a lighthouse for Maya merchant ships sailing along the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
After enjoying the Mayan culture, you'll be driven into the Mayan hidden treasure: a natural sinkhole where you'll be able to swim and explore the fascinating creatures and living things inside of these natural caves.
A cenote forms when the limestone land surface collapses, and exposes the ground water underneath, also, because the water has been filtered through the limestone, it is cool, and usually crystal clear. Cenotes are of special significance to the Mayan Culture. In ancient times, they used these sites for sacrificial offerings… and, they were believed to be entry points to the underworld – or the after-life.
Later, your guide will drive you to the beautiful Playa del Carmen, where you'll enjoy free time walking through the pedestrian streets, enjoying their particular environment.
