What to expect

One of the best parts of visiting Sri Lanka is immersing yourself in its eclectic culture. And this afternoon tour really is a treat for the senses. You'll take a tuk-tuk up to a Buddhist monastery, head to the plantations to watch delicacies being made and join in a feast complete with traditional dance.

First up is a tuk-tuk ride up to the Buddhist temple, where you'll be blessed by a monk. Next, it's over to the rubber and tea plantations to freshen up over a cup of cinnamon tea, tour the fragrant spice garden and watch coconut honey and buffalo curd being made.

Now you'll get hands on with the cooking preparations for your banquet. Help to make dishes such as curry, sweetmeats and desserts over the fire, after which you'll sit down and enjoy the bounty. We'll top it off with a dance show that's a feast for the eyes.
