Chrissi island is all about light aquamarine seas, pink-coloured sands and nothing but nature around you. This small, uninhabited island is your destination for the day. You can sunbathe, swim, snorkel and stroll in scented juniper woods during your free time here.
At Ierapetra, in southeast Crete, you'll board the boat for a one-hour crossing to Chrissi. Its shores are surrounded by crystal clear waters, and the interior is bulging with protected juniper woods. The only building of note is a pretty whitewashed Orthodox church. Shaded by a solitary juniper tree, it's worth a photo stop. And with about four hours to spend here, you can swim, sunbathe and snorkel to your heart's content.
Chrissi is pretty narrow, so you can walk coast to coast, or see Mikronisi isle to the east. You can also take a walk in the woods or along the marked path around the island, but best of all, you'll can relax surrounded by views over never-ending turquoise seas. This is what being on holidays is all about.
