What to expect

Have you ever wanted to visit the famous Scottish Highlands? Are you fascinated by the mystical folklore, the famous warriors such as William Wallace and Rob Roy, the wild scenery and the fascinating history that’s been the pride of Scotland for centuries? This one day tour from Edinburgh takes you to some of the most beautiful sites of the Scottish Highlands, such as Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle. Visiting the charming villages of Callander & Luss you will have the opportunity to enjoy some additional options such as a cruise on Loch Lomond and a visit to Stirling Castle.

Here’s how your full day tour is going to happen. On a brisk morning, get on a comfortable luxury coach in Edinburgh and head northwest, stopping at the gorgeous Stirling Castle, one of Scotland's most historically significant castles, sitting high on volcanic rock and offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. Get off the bus and don’t miss the opportunity to visit the castle and learn of the exploits of key historical figures such as William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots. With lots of interesting things to see and do here, the Stirling Castle experience is a must for any visitor to Scotland.

As the journey continues, see the medieval Doune Castle and onto the lovely town of Callander, situated on the banks of River Teith in Stirlingshire, where you will stop for a well-deserved lunch.

From there, you enter The Trossachs National Park, also known as The Highlands in Miniature for its many lochs, mountains and forests, and famous as it is the homeland of legendary outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor.

Your journey doesn’t end here, however! You will then reach the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, highlight of your trip, and one of the prettiest and largest lochs in the whole of Scotland. Here you can enjoy an hour long cruise (see additional options) taking in spectacular views of the loch’s many islands and the surrounding mountains. Alternatively, take a stroll through the picturesque loch-side conservation village of Luss, with its quaint houses, cafes and stunning views across the loch’s western shoreline. Only then will it be time to go back to Edinburgh, tired but delighted by this exciting adventure.
