What to expect

As you drive northeast out of Edinburgh, you will have the chance to admire the Kelpies, two 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures. As you travel through Stirlingshire, your guide will bring to life the turbulent times of William Wallace - dramatized in the film Braveheart - and explain his link to the countryside you will be passing through. You will then make a stop at the beautiful city of Stirling for about two hours. This will give you ample time to explore the stunning castle (optional extra subject to availability) or stroll through the ancient streets that surround it.

Your route will then take you over the Duke’s Pass, where you can experience breathtaking views of the Trossachs National Park and its Lochs, home of the Highland rogue RobRoy. You will then make your way to Aberfoyle for lunch, a small holiday village at the southern edge of the West Highland Fault and at the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. In Loch Lomond, you will visit the beautiful loch side village of Balmaha where you can take a short but steep hike up to CraigieFort to enjoy stunning views over the loch, or enjoy the bonnie banks on flat ground.

Your final stop is in one of Scotland’s most beautiful distilleries, called Glengoyne. Here, you will learn the process of creation of the perfect dram, as well as enjoying a tasting! If you aren’t interested in whisky, you can go for a short walk to the nearby Dumgoyne Hill to see the stunning waterfall and make the most of the tranquil secret glen that sits behind the distillery.
