The Estate is run by the family, which only uses its own grapes, carefully cultivated in the vineyard and entirely picked by hand; the vines are worked using the sole ingredients of organic agriculture.
I Balzin is focused on producing premium, small-batch wine (Supertuscans only from 1987) and belongs to the Committee Great Cru of Italy, an association founded in 2005 to protect and promote the prestige of firms that have produced excellent wines for at least 20 years, rated with consistently high scores.
With a focus on small-group tours, face-to-face communication, professionality and easy-going Tuscan hospitality, I Balzini seeks to make visiting and tasting a unique experience.
Enjoy a guided tour of the winery, visit the cellar and the unique room called "Nursery" where special-size bottles are stored (from 1,5/3/5/6 to 12 liters. Then, reach the terrace from where you will learn about the unusual soil and from where you will get a wonderful view over the vineyards and olive oil trees (only 8 acres in total). Lastly, enjoy a wine tasting of four of the best wines produced at the winery and of balsamic vinegar paired with bread nibble and extra virgin olive oil.
During the tour you will get the chance to taste:
