Standing at more than 1,600m, Arenal volcano frames the skyline with near perfect symmetry – and it's Costa Rica's most famous natural feature. Set against this spectacular backdrop is La Fortuna, a town at the base of the volcano, adjacent to a rainforest teeming with wildlife.
The tour kicks off at La Fortuna. Here, you'll have time to soak up the atmosphere before being whisked across the vast Lake Arenal in search of wildlife and a chance to take explore its surroundings. We'll then tour an organic fruit and vegetable plantation for a demonstration of a trapiche, the ancient sugarcane processing technique. Rounding off the visit is a typical Costa Rican lunch, complete with fresh vegetables harvested straight from the farm.
And the icing on the cake is it's the chance to wallow in hot springs. These thermal waters are surrounded by the rainforest and offer a serene experience that will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
