What to expect

We've hooked up with some of the top family-owned wineries in Istria for this afternoon wine tasting outing. You'll tour the Cattunar and Kabola wineries to get the lowdown on their production processes and then raise a glass or two to celebrate their dedication and passion.

The fun kicks off at the Kabola winery in Momjan, in hilly country. Owned by Markezic family since the 19th century, it has a long tradition of producing top-notch sparkling, macerated, semi-sweet and sweet wines. Nurse a glass of wine while you drink in the peaceful surroundings of the state.

And there's more. Our next stop is Cattunar winery, a lowland village not far from the coast. Owned by the Cattunar family, it specialises in local grape varieties such as Malvasia, Teran and Muscat Momjanski grown over four types of soil. After seeing the cellars, it's time to taste the goods.
