Unesco World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater ,once a massive volcano, is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The crater is the most important draw of the region and hosts up to 25,000 larger animals, including the black-maned lion, the black rhino, 100 species of birds, and the Big 5. This unparalleled concentration of wildlife can be spotted at a very short distance.
Day 1: Departure for Ngorongoro. Drive across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping on the way for a picnic lunch. You will continue your day until evening when you will reach the Karatu Simba lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the Ngorongoro crater. After a truly unique wildlife experience you will return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Karatu Simba Lodge.
Day 3: After breakfast, leave the park and drive to Kilimanjaro. Once in the city drop off to the airport or to the hotel of your choice.
