Tiny La Palma is one giant source of adventure. And this full day tour of the south of the island's volcanoes, forests and twisted rock formations will take you back to the Land That Time Forgot. Star turns include San Antonio and Teneguia volcanoes, and the Caldera de Taburiente.
It's a spiritual start to the day at the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves. Head next to Villa Mazo to observe traditional pottery making at a workshop. Then we go to the deep south, where you can peer down into the San Antonio and Teneguia volcanoes. The dark landscapes here have a prehistoric feel to them.
Next, head to the very heart of the La Palma – the Caldera de Taburiente, which rises more than 2,000 metres above island. From La Cumbrecita, look down into the crater and see an untouched Garden of Eden. Mist-covered mountains, dense forests, streams, waterfalls, all within the 8km-wide crater. We'll then go on a short hike to catch views of the island's highest point Roque de Los Muchachos.
