Travel into the pine-clad Troodos Mountains for a snapshot of rural Cypriot life. You'll visit the holy site at Kykkos Monastery, stroll through the rustic village of Kalopanayiotis, and enjoy a typical lunch followed by wine tasting. The drive into the countryside is worth it for the views alone.
Encountering beautiful landscapes that contrast the coast, we'll stop for a coffee break en-route to the village of Kalopanayiotis. Wander the narrow Byzantine streets, steeped in history, then head on to the star of the show, Kykkos Monastery. Perched on top Mount Kykkos, the interior is richly decorated and you won't be able to keep your eyes off the golden icons and frescoes.
A lunch of traditional dishes in Pedoulas is followed by a trip to the Lambouri winery for a tasting session – it's a great chance to try their fine whites and rich reds. Last but not least, there's a peek into the past at Lania wine press and the Koumandaria Museum.
