Discover the local way of life as well as the temple of Dendera and the Nile cruising a traditional Egyptian wooden boat, on this full-day guided tour.
Starting from meeting your guide, you'll begin your journey to the preserved ancient temple located 82km north of Luxor City. Whilst on this journey, you'll taste rusk with cumin and sesame (known locally as "Boksomat") washed down with fresh water, and juice. You'll also observe the local Egyptian villages and green fields with farmers plowing, watering, planting, or harvesting. Children going to school and women going to the market to sell their products of cheese, butter, geese, and others buy. You'll realize this is already more than just a tour to an ancient monument, but a complete cultural tour of land and people.
Next, once you reach Dendera, you'll marvel at the large stone roof, dark chambers, underground passages and towering columns inscribed with hieroglyphics. Plus, learn how it was the ritual location where Goddess Hathor gave birth to Horus and stands on the edge of the desert as if awaiting her return. Then, upon return to Luxor, you'll board a traditional Egyptian wooden boat with its canvas sail to cruise until the dock of Hotel Steigenberger Achti or Iberotel Luxor for your lunch.
