What to expect

Visit the historic house of Rufus King, set up as it was in the year 1808, when the King family purchased the home. Explore the kitchen, dining room, parlor, and library and learn what life was like in the early 19th century. Hear the impact the Rufus King, the house's owner and an anti-slavery Founding Father, had on American history. Children will learn what life was like 200 years ago and how Rufus King helped share the country. For an additional fee, children can play historical games, create crafts and artifacts and participate in archaeology programs.
