Have you always wanted to try stand up paddling but been too afraid of falling in the water? This sport is very easy to learn, suits a wide range of ages and fitness levels, and after this beginners course you will paddling like a pro in no time!
Accompanied by an expert instructor, you will start your training on land where you will be taught some of the theory behind controlling a paddle board. You will then venture out onto the water where you will learn how to lift, carry and launch yourself safely onto the water. Once you've got this under control, the real SUP lesson begins.
Some of the basic techniques you will learn include paddle strokes and board control, how to get back on your board, as well as self rescue and buddy rescue. By the end of the course, you will also have a good understanding of safety on the water, boat traffic and weather conditions so you can plan your paddling route.
