Sprinkled with Hollywood glamour, James Bond Island is one of Phuket’s most popular attractions. Ever since 007 took on The Man with the Golden Gun here in the 70s, it has been a must-visit. On this early bird tour, you’ll jet off by speedboat into Phang Nga Bay towards Khao Phing Kan – its actual name – and afterwards explore the caves around Ko Hong by canoe.
Set your alarm early for this one as we’ll set off at daybreak into Phang Nga Bay. It’s well worth it, though, as you’ll get to see the iconic limestone karsts in a light that makes them all the more mesmerising – and you’ll beat the crowds. You’ll zoom though emerald-green seas before reaching James Bond Island – the lair of the evil Scaramanga and home to the bay with the iconic Ko Tapu stack.
Then it’s over to Ko Hong, where you’ll canoe into its hidden turquoise lagoon. And with a helmet and torch, you’ll also explore grottos with names such as ‘Ice Cream Cave’ and ‘Mangrove Cave’.
