Day tour of La Désirade island
- Discover peaceful beaches and have a swim
- Climb the mountain and enjoy the 360° view
- See striped iguanas and visit an old cotton mill
La Désirade is a small island with everything to satisfy those who like great landscapes, impressive cliffs, pristine beaches and a beautiful coral reef.
The tour starts at 8.00am from the marina de St François where you'll take the boat. Upon arrival, you'll head to the east coast of the island for peaceful beaches and a swim. You'll then visit the old cotton mill and get some history insights and legens of the island. You'll have the chance to see the most friendly inhabitants of the island: the striped iguanas of La Desirade. They are much more docile than you might think. Arriving at the old weather station on the Atlantic ocean side, you might be able to see the cetaceans pass during the whale season.
In the late morning, you'll climb the mountain to reach the highest point of the island (246m) and enjoy a 360° view of the surrounding islands.
For lunch, a delicious Creole meal will be served with local products.
The tour ends with free time to chill on the beach before taking the boat back to t François.
