From your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, you will head to the Toconao village, towards the Jerez Canyon (Quebrada de Jerez) where you will be able to see the flora and fauna of this beautiful Valley, located at an altitude of 2.475 metres. Once in Toconao, stop at the San Lucas Church, made of mud and straw with its typical belltower. Then you will visit the local handicraft fair very popular for its Alpaca wool and creative crafts made of cactus or volcanic stone.
Your journey will continue to the fabulous Atacama Salt Flat, the largest in Chile and one of the largest in the world. Continue along a small path to the Chaxa Lagoon. Be delighted by the different species of pink flamingos; this place is a protected flamingo breeding reservoir and declared Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos (National Reserve).
Finally, looking towards the Andes, you will enjoy a colourful sunset bringing you to the end of your tour. You will be returned to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
