Start your trek along the north coast with stops in Cachorro and Lajido where wine was once produced. You will have the opportunity to discover traditionall wine cellars and taste local wine. You will continue your walk towards São Roque, famous for its many natural swimming pools. Crossing the high plateau towards the south coast, you will enjoy excellent views of the ocean and the nearby island São Jorge. Once at the top, you will visit the Lagoa do Capitão, one of the most beautiful lakes on Pico.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you will discover the traditional village of Lajes do Pico. Enjoy a stroll through the narrow streets and a guided tour of the Whaler Museum. Before returning to Madalena along the southern coast, you will stop at the Criação Velha vineyards, the most emblematic place to understand why Pico's wine landscape was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.
