Jajce was the capital of Bosnian Kingdom during the 14th century. It has significant historical importance but it's also one of the most visited tourist destination. The famous waterfall where Pliva River meets Vrbas River presents unique beauty of wild nature. Visiting the Royal Fortress, Mlincici complex, Pliva springs and Katakombe Museum will take your breath away.
On the road to Jajce, there is another small town named Travnik, which is also representing the Bosnian culture. It is important to point out that Travnik kept almost the same appearance as during Ottoman period. Numerous mosques, houses and fountains are still witnessing that period.
Starting in the morning, get ready to explore the former capital of Bosnian Kingdom, unique town of Jajce. On the drive over the mountains, you will be able to enjoy very beautiful scenery.
The first break will be in Travnik, known for its Fortress from 16th century. You will be amazed by the Ottoman architecture still visible in the city.
The first thing you see once you get to Jajce is its magnificent 17-meter high waterfall in the very heart of the town, making Jajce one of the most unique towns in the world. The royal town was built on the confluence of two great rivers; the Pliva and the Vrbas. In the town you can visit a variety of monuments, museums, lakes, watermills, and enjoy the beautiful nature.
