A chance to savour the real Bulgaria with a journey into the rural heartlands beyond the Black Sea coast. Visit farms, taste locally produced foods and drinks, enjoy a village tour in a donkey-drawn cart and have lunch in a historic restaurant during this exclusive half-day excursion.
First up is the village of Kosharitsa for a bee farm visit. Taste the pure natural honey, mead and sweet honey brandy produced here. Back on the road, drive into the highlands to the hamlet of Kozichino, where time seems to have stood still. Hop on a donkey-drawn cart for a tour, with a stop at a house to see a wool-carding machine at work. And at another homestead, you'll see Bulgarian yoghurt made.
Next, you'll visit a distillery to taste brandy and to witness a performance of folkloric songs and dances before for lunch at Kladeneca restaurant. Here, there is an ethnographic exhibition to check out. The buffet lunch will be a selection of traditional Bulgarian dishes washed down with drinks.
