Are you thinking about endless powder and steep drops? Want to access untouched skiing areas that are hidden away from the main like skiers? This tour is constructed for those who have vast experience in the backcountry. On this day you´ll experience Norwegian backcountry skiing in the utmost excellent surroundings.
The plan for the day will be to create the best possible experience while staying safe. You are required to have a good level of skiing, no exceptions. As this day includes hours of hiking in backcountry conditions and long ascents it is mandatory to have a high level of physical fitness.
Specialized tour bindings where heels stay unattached on uphill walks are required for an effective hike through the snow, but for the descent, it must be able to be locked. Snowboarders with splitboards are also able to participate if they are equipped with similar bindings and skins as skiers.
The decision for the skiing area will be based on the group’s preferences, weather & snow conditions, and avalanche forecast. Some of the possible ski areas are Mount Oksen (Hardangerfjord), Lønahorgi – Voss to Afdal traverse, Raundalen mountain range, Vikafjell and Sognefjord.
You may also have the opportunity to ski in some hidden gems that are not published on any website or social media.

Join us winter 2022 for an exclusive backcountry day tour through the incredible mountains surrounding Voss. This trip is designed specifically for those who have extensive experience in the backcountry and are looking for long days with endless powder and steep drops. Our local guides will have two objectives on every trip: providing you with the best possible experience, and keeping you safe. That is why for our big mountain runs, we require a good level of skiing and/or riding, no exceptions. These days will include long ascents that require both a high level of fitness and previous hours spent hiking in backcountry conditions.
DATES & DESTINATIONS Our Experienced/Advanced backcountry excursions are available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from December to April. We will determine where the ski tour will take place 48-hours before the assigned departure time. Our decision will be based on the group’s wishes, as well as the weather, snow conditions and avalanche forecast. You will find the list of possible destinations listed below. After your booking is made our staff will contact you 48 hrs before the tour to discuss the better options for the date set. ;) Tours will normally start at 8:30am and end around 4pm. During the late winter and spring seasons, tours may be extended due to the increased amount of daylight hours. The meeting point will always be in Voss pick-ups for those staying outside of Voss can be arranged upon special request.
PRICES Solo travelers or small groups: If you are travelling as an individual or in a group of up to 2 persons, this product offers a spot in an open group. It’s a great opportunity to meet new mates and share the passion for ski touring! 1 person: 1.500/day per person Be aware that we need a minimum of 3 participants to offer you a spot for 1500,- nok/ person. In case of 2 and less bookings per day, you will be offered to share expenses for a private guide (4500,- nok/ day) or the trip will be cancelled and we will fully refund you.
