Two of Croatia's most magical landscapes are the stars of this trip. You'll soak up the natural beauty of UNESCO-listed Plitvice National Park and visit the village of Rastoke – a clutch of fairytale-like cottages crowned by the magnificent waterfalls of the the Slunjčica river. It's a day of spectacular scenery in the Dalmatian Hinterland.
First we'll drop by the Croatian War of Independence Museum to uncover the country's turbulent past. Continue on to the peaceful surrounds of Rastoke and you'll get a taste for things to come as you wander by the waterfalls, wooden houses and watermills of this picturesque riverside village.
Finally, we reach the main event – the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Plitvice National Park. With cascading waterfalls plunging into pools of pure jade, it's a sight to behold. Explore the 18km of wooden paths that snake around the park and see almost every shade of green and blue in the spectrum. No filters needed, this place is made for Instagram.
