Zanzibar is known as the ‘Spice Island', and this half-day private tour sure turns up the heat. You'll tour a spice farm to see where the likes of vanilla, nutmeg and cardamom are grown while learning and tasting as you go. It also includes a visit to Kidichi Persian Baths, built by Sultan Seyyid Said for his wife.
You'll head into the countryside for this private tour, and the spice plantations that cover Zanzibar will be your focus for the morning. Once you arrive at the farms, you'll set off on a two-hour tour to see where pepper, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla and cinnamon are grown. Your guide will give you the lowdown on how spices are used in local dishes, medicine and ceremonies, too.
Afterwards, the stuccoed Kidichi Persian Baths will be your next stop where you can still make out the massage tables and pools built in 1850. Some free time for lunch completes the tour.
