With its coral reefs and colourful marine life, Mnemba Atoll Marine Reserve is a snorkeller's heaven. You'll escape to its coral reefs on a traditional wooden dhow boat for a day of snorkelling, swimming and seafood straight off the grill on the beach. It's picture-perfect Zanzibar.
You'll cruise along the east coast of the island from Muyuni, drifting by cliffs and hopefully pods of dolphins as you make your way to Mnemba Island. Your vessel for the day will be a traditional wooden dhow boat for an added atmospheric touch as you glide along the Indian Ocean. Once you reach Mnemba Atoll conservation area, you'll enjoy two 45-minute snorkelling trips.
And once you're in the water, you'll dip and dive over sandy beds with scattered coral heads and shallow sloping coral walls. After snorkelling, Muyuni Beach will be your next stop where a barbecue lunch will be on offer as well as the chance to swim and chill out some more.
