What to expect
Spend the morning at PROJECT-E's school grounds in Ayat, Addis Ababa as you exchange stories and traditions with the students and get to know one another. After the introductions, the students will organize three workshops. Explore Ethiopian culture through group presentations, learn the basics of the Amharic language, and move your feet to the traditional music as you learn typical Ethiopian dances. Visit the rest of the school grounds included the student accommodations. Chat with the local employees and learn about PROJECT-E's vision. Afterwards, eat a flavorful lunch served by the students before experiencing a traditional coffee ceremony -- a steadfast tradition in Ethiopia. The student-run ceremony starts by washing the green coffee beans, then grinding them and brewing them into the familiar dark beverage. You will also have the opportunity to buy the organic and locally roasted coffee from PROJECT-E's partner organization, Curi's Coffee, to enjoy at home.With the bag full of coffee and the mind full of the Ethiopian culture, depart to the city center. Please note: this tour is free with a suggested donation of $25 USD.
