You'll probably be in no hurry to move from your sunlounger, but there's a lot more to see in Barbados beyond the beach. This day out lets you follow your senses around the isle, from west to east.
There's a stop in Speightstown to take some quick pics of the tropical-coloured houses, before a trip to Animal Flower Cave – an incredible coral-filled cavern which was discovered by two English explorers in 1780. Further along the coast, you can snap views from 260 metres above the water at Cherry Tree Hill, and breathe in the ocean air at boulder-studded Bathsheba beach.
Next up is a photo stop at Bathsheba train station, once part of the Barbados Railway line built during British rule. After a Bajan lunch at antique-filled Sunbury Plantation House, we round off with an insight into island rum-making with a visit to the Foursquare Distillery.
