A journey deep into the Yucatan jungle to discover the ancient Maya city of Coba. You'll learn about their enigmatic culture, climb the Great Pyramid, meet villagers and swim in a sacred cenote. This is one of our TUI Collection excursions, which give you a local flavour of the destination while showcasing its unique, authentic and responsible values.
We arrive early in Coba so that you can explore it in the cooler and less-crowded time of the day. The Great Pyramid is more than 40 metres high and is one of the last pyramids you can still climb. The 120-step ascent – and descent – is a bit of an adventure but the panoramic views from the top are worth the effort.
Next up is a visit to a Maya community, where villagers still live without running water or electricity. Experience a Maya ceremony before enjoying a traditional lunch in a nearby restaurant. There's time for a refreshing swim in a sacred cenote before heading back.
