Discover the picturesque Bergstraße, an ancient trade route in the south-west of Germany, from Alsbach Castle to Auerbach or Lorsch by bike during a private group tour.
You can choose between a half-day or full-day tour. The half day tour leads from Alsbacher Burg to Auerbach and the full-day tour to beautiful Lorsch.
The guide will await you with the bikes at Alsbach Castle, which can be easily spotted from afar. Via the picturesque "Comoder Weg" you will cycle through the beautiful beech forest to the romantic ruins of Auerbach Castle. From there you can enjoy an incredible view of the Rhine plain and travel back to medieval times while your guide is telling you about the castle's history. Then you will continue to descend in serpentine to the state park Fürstenlager near Auerbach.
During the full-day tour you cycle another 15 kilometers to Lorsch. The ruins of the former Lorsch Monastery are on the World Heritage List for a reason: The so-called "King's Hall" with its rich ornamentation is one of the most important examples of early medieval architecture!
