What to expect

Travel through time and learn about the history and origins of the Cathedral of Girona and St Feliu, today buildings committed to the cult of the catholic community.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria is located in the upper part of town. Poses the widest gothic nave of the world which is 22,98 m wide.

The construction works of the Cathedral date back to the XI cent. when the romanesque architecture started and followed all the way through the XIII with
the gothic movement. The Cathedral works finalized in the XVIII century and has been declared world heritage.

The extensive and long history of the Cathedral has gifted highly valued world heritage which now is showcased to the visitor. The main pieces of art are “The Tapestry of Creation”, Paleochristian sarcophagi, Book of the Beat (s.X), Ara of the altar and the Episcopal chair.
