3-Day Tour of DharamshalaDharamshala, the holy residence of the Dalai Lama, is a fascinating historical and cultural hub. It is defined by its distinct geographical features spanning low and high altitudes. The lower division houses Dharamshala's main town, while its upper division is known as Mcleod Ganj. During your visit, you will be staying in the Kangra Valley, a hilly stretch of land with a spectacular view of the snow-peaked Dhauladhar Mountains. Home to many exiled Tibetan monks, Dharamshala is considered to be a fantastic place to explore Buddhism and Tibetan Culture. Day 1After your 9 AM arrival at Gaggal Airport, you will be directed to your homestay by local taxi. Once you have had a chance to familiarize yourself with your accommodation, you will set out for an exciting day of sightseeing. Explore the renowned Buddhist Monasteries in Karmapa and Norblinga, and discover Dharamshala's famous cricket grounds. After a 1 PM lunch, enjoy a short taxi ride to one of India's oldest architectural treasures: the Kangra Fort. Here you will be immersed in a tranquil, timeless environment. Dinner will be served at 8 PM before you make your way back to your homestay for the evening.Day 2After an 8 AM breakfast, you will begin your journey to Mcleod Ganj. Here, you will discover the famous Dalai Lama Temple and Museum, the Tsuglagkhang Monastery, the Namgyal Monastery, the Saint John's Church and the Bhagsu Waterfall. After an action-packed morning, enjoy a tasty lunch and spend your afternoon exploring a local market. In the evening, sample local foods before returning to your homestay at 8 PM. Day 3After an 8 AM breakfast, you will begin your 32-kilometer journey to the Masroor Rock Temple. Famous for its 15 monolithic rock structures, the temple showcases intricately carved stonework dating back to the 8th century. The main shrine houses images of Hindu deities Ram, Laxman, Sita, and Shiva. Experience spectacular views of the Dhauladhar Mountains and enjoy an impressive water pond often considered auspicious by Hindu devotees. After a mesmerizing visit, you will be accompanied back to the airport for your departure flight.
